What's Happenin' at the Adlab?February 2010 It's that time of year again - Tuppett's birthday! This of course involves a massive amount of food, fun, and pictures.
Tuppett's reaction to a customized card featuring Paul Frank characters and Dr. Grgeory House - a winning combination.
After singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles it's time to eat,
socialize, and for new lab members to make their signs for the Ad Lab bulletin board.
Best part of the day - getting an updated photo of the lab. With this many people it takes a bit of effort to get situated...
Success! What a good-looking group! August 2009 The Ad Lab's annual BBQ at Dr. Yates' house! Delicious food, fun in the pool, and great company make this a popular event that we look forward to each year.
Lounging by the pool and enjoying the gorgeous weather. Former lab members were also in attendance, including Lizette with her adorable son.
Cynthia holding the beautiful cake congratulating recent graduates (many of whom are still in the lab, thankfully!)
Recent graduates gathered around the cake and gifts.
Opening their well deserved gifts - we're so proud of their accomplishments! The party continued well into the night
April 2009 Society for Research in Child Development Biennial Meeting (SRCD)
Several lab members presented at the biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development held in Denver, CO. It was great to present our own posters, and also to hear about the research that others are conducting in the field. Even though we were pretty busy we still managed to have a good time together.
In addition to presenting, some members also served as volunteers at the conference.
Chelsie and Erica with their poster on Concurrent Relations Between Preschool Personality Profiles and Socioemotional Adaptation.
Izabela and Cynthia posing in front of their poster on Perceptions of Child Sexual Abuse and Socioemotional Adaptation in Late Adolescense.
Ad Lab grad students (too bad they weren't looking at the camera).
Sara and Rowell are happy to present their poster on Risk and Protective Cognitions in Children of Depressed Mothers.
Sara and Nerissa with their poster on Home Visitation With Families at Risk for Child Maltreatment: Preventing Parenting Stress. (Sara actually had 3 posters at the conference - quite impressive!)
Nerissa explaining her research findings to a conference attendee.
After a long day of presentations and volunteering, Rowell, Chelsie, and Erica are still all smiles.
Kicking back and enjoying each other's company - the perfect ending to a terrific conference.
March 2009 Surprise party in honor of Sara's wedding!
A reference from The Office (one of Sara's favorite shows).
Adorable cake!
No party would be complete without gifts, and now Sara can use this pie dish to bake some delicious treats (to share with us, of course).
February 2009 Tuppett's birthday - an annual celebration involving orange, monkeys, food, and of course fun.
Tuppett reading her birthday card...
... and enjoying it
Lab members wearing orange (Tuppett's favorite color)

Group photo of the lab. It's hard to believe how much we've grown since then!
December 2008
As is tradition (hopefully), at the end of the first quarter of each year, in an effort to slow down and in order to catch up, Tuppett is kind enough to take her dedicated graduate students out to a well deserved night on the town.
We graduate students had a great time!
As did our fearless leader of course!
All in all, Izabela made it through her first quarter, Cyn and Sara are one quarter away from getting to put an M.A. after their names, and we have all managed to maintain our sanity :)
Oh my GOODNESS - we are an adorable team! Happy Holidays everyone! June 2008 As is tradition, at the end of our busy year, Tuppett and Katja opened the doors to their lovely home and invited the entire lab and all of our partners over for food and fun! and although there were some bitter sweet farewells.... Everyone had a great time.... Everyone! WE SURVIVED OUR FIRST YEAR!! (Phew) February 2008 Our latest big event was a celebration of our esteemed director's birthday! A lab effort to wear orange and an appropriately themed Monkey decor helped highlight our lab's naturally festive atmosphere.
Creative sleuthing lead to an interesting discovery... pie cutter $3, candles $1.50.... Custom made Almond Joy Ice Cream Cake that says "Go Bananaz"... Priceless!
Pretty in Orange! Our Adorable Lab!
The Adlab Chorus presents "A Monkey Birthday Serenade" (look out American Idol!)
